Recently, Amirah portrayed Diahann Carroll in Shirley and delivered a critically acclaimed performance in Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues as Hattie Mae, where her soulful singing and nuanced portrayal earned praise from The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and TIME.
